Time to End the Chaos

Well, that didn’t take long. What mean is that the media blaming the riots on Minneapolis and other cities on “white supremacists”. No really. It seems be the go-to for media during the Trump Era because as everyone knows, Trump is a Nazi. All anyone as to do though is look at some of the video footage of those creating havoc, whether it’s in Minnesota, Georgia, Texas, California, or Colorado (among many). What do we see? People wearing black, with backpacks, wearing masks, carrying weaponry to destroy businesses. What profile does that fit? Oh, yeah, Antifa.

I haven’t witnessed any scenes from any of the cities where we’ve had video of anyone carrying Nazi flags or even confederate flags during the riots. No, these are people are paid, professional anarchists. As the Mayor of St Paul said earlier, every arrest made overnight was of someone from out of state. The rioting has become larger than most police forces are able to control, and even with support of the National Guard, some are incapable of dealing with the chaos. In Minneapolis overnight, the police and Guard disappeared for hours, while the vandals looted and burned whatever they wanted. What did the governor say? They (police) were being fired upon. Isn’t part of their job, in protecting the public, to go towards the danger, in order to suppress it? Not that I want any officer or guardsman to be hurt, but in retreating from a few gunshots, they did nothing but place that very public they are sworn to protect, in mortal danger .

The media does nothing but implicitly encourage these people. On Thursday night, there was an MSNBC “anchor” on the streets of Minneapolis saying, “I want to be clear on how I characterize this. This is mostly a protest. It is not generally speaking unruly. But fires have been started.” As buildings behind him were fully engulfed in flame. What’s that again? He continued:

There is a deep sense of grievance and complaint here, and that is the thing. That when you discount people who are doing things to public property that they shouldn’t be doing, it does have to be understood that this city has got, for the last several years, an issue with police, and it’s got a real sense of the deep sense of grievance of inequality.

Yes, he said that, live, while part of the city behind him was burning. Although there may be a “deep sense of grievance” over “issues with the police”, it seemed to most people watching, that he was making excuses for the destruction going on all around him. The police are evil, so it’s okay to destroy the city, my neighbors’ business.

CNN hasn’t been a paragon on wanting to quell any of the violence either. Remember the journalists creed: What’s bad for you is good for me (H/T Tim Poole). What surprised many on social media was the large crowd in Atlanta, attacking CNN Center. One tweeter remarked: “Why are they attacking their HQ?”

There is good reason to protest: the murder (yes, I said it) of George Floyd is unconscionable and people have every tight to be angry and make their voices heard. What no one has is the right to riot and create chaos placing others in harms way. We have elected representatives at local and state level, who are sworn to protect their citizens. In some areas, it is happening, in others, like Minneapolis, it seems that government have abdicated their primary responsibility.  I wouldn’t like seeing federal troops having to be deployed Time to End the Chaosin any of these cities, but it may have to happen, if the local and state governments are incapable of gaining control of their own cities.

  1. Our elected officials spent the past three months telling us what we can’t do, where we can’t go, and who we can’t associate with. Now the past three days standing idly by while the mob committed mass mayhem and destruction. As TC suggests, nah, I’m not playing that game anymore:

  2. Heavy sigh…

I am so desperately weary of this behavior in our country, but especially weary and angry that some reason that this is what is normal anymore. But…that is what moves the ratings, right? I wonder what would happen if (did you say this, Jim?) the media was shut down for a month? Maybe even all media, except radio…hmm?
