Do Atheists Believe in Heaven?

I was just perusing one of the latest Pew Research polls concerning religion, in this case, non-religion, or non-belief, aka Atheism. They ask a lot of questions. Some, are odd to me being that they’re asking what they’re calling “Atheists”. They ask atheists how often they read the bible(Hebrew/Christian) as well as if they pray(how often) and of course, if they believe in heaven/hell. Interesting responses from a minority of “Atheists” that I’ll expand upon in a later post. It takes a while to go through all of this information, but I’ll try to raise a few eyebrows when I co4me back to the topic, shortly.

The “Dancing Nurses” are Back

And because some can’t stand the shadows, here come the “Dancing Nurses” of COVID-19 fame. Recall watching these, early during the “pandemic” supposedly relieving their stress of all the death and misery they were in part a cause, stopping everything to produce a sort of “flash mob” video? The media had orgasm’s over these. At the time, I wondered if indeed the emergency, was indeed because these are not done without some choreography and a lot of practice before you commit to video. Then, how many “takes” to get it “perfect”? See where I’m going? The latest are these same underpaid, overworked heroes are protesting “climate change”. No wonder health care is so expensive in the U.S.

I’m Still Here

A quick update. I haven’t given up posting here. I’ve moved and don’t have a good, permanent space to write, so I’m going with a portable, folding table, I can use anywhere, inside or out. I had to order what I wanted and it should be here this week. I’ll be ready to roll at that point. I have an idea for a post on AI: how did this suddenly become so controversial? Another post concerns the lack of utilization of all of this great technology we have today(yes, people still use “floppy disks”).

Stay tuned!

The COVID-19 Confidence Game

According to the CDC, some 1.1 million Americans lost their lives due to COVID-19. I’m being careful here with my words because I want people to understand what I’m saying: the government estimates that more than a million of its citizens died during the COVID-19 pandemic. First of all, estimates is a curious word to use because a corpse is a corpse and we can count those easily. They physically exist. A quick autopsy, blood test in particular, will tell if the corpse was infected by COVID-19, right? I thought so and so did everyone else that was trying to pay attention to the ever changing Rules for Pandemic Survival. I cannot believe that for almost 3 months, I took these people seriously.

A Programmed Train Wreck

I’m a soccer (as we call it in the U.S.) fan. Some of you may already be aware of this. I’m not the fan that will ignore everything and everyone else in order to watch a game on TV or go to a live event. When I want to watch a sporting event, then it’s definitely soccer. One of the nice things about this game is that it is year-long. When the European season is over, the U.S. season is picking up steam. Plus, there’s all of these extra competitions that happen every few years(e.g. World Cup). This year, it’s the Women’s World Cup. The last two (2015, 2019) were won by the U.S. It begins this week on the other side of the planet, Australia and New Zealand. I will of course be cheering for the U.S. to make an unprecedented “three-peat”. But it’s not the only thing going on.
