Don’t know if anyone saw, or even cared, but David Silverman has been hired as an Executive Director for Atheist Alliance International. No kidding. Wasn’t it not that long ago, about a year and a half., when he was fired from his position as President of American Atheists for, well, things. Things he’s recently even admitted to doing, but of course, all of us need to take into acooint of the context of what happened. No, he doesn’t deny what happened, happened. It just didn’t occur the exact way it was told by his accusers.

Waking Up From Being ‘Woke’

I don’t know how many have been paying attention, but david Silverman is trying to make a comeback of sorts – attempting to resuscitate his career in atheism, I guess. I don’;t know exactly why, because during the worst times of the schism, he was relatively silent. In fact, if anything he supported the tactics of what is now referred to those considered woke. I first noticed when he did this long, extremely cringeworthy interview recently with Atheist Republic. I could only get to the one-hour point, although I did go back and attempt to watch more. I believe everyone should have a chance, a voice, especially when they’re trying to resore a reputation that may have been damaged by false accusations.

Why Antagonize Believers?

I often wonder why Atheists are so disliked within society. It’s not as if we’re serial killers or rapists wandering the landscape, searching for our next victim. We don’t, well at least none I know, worship Satan or practice demonology. We’re just regular people, with jobs and families that happen to differ with the majority over whether there is any proof for the existence of any god. I’ve not been discriminated against as an atheist, but I understand why some will not be open about their disbelief. So what is the reason why we’re so disliked? I think I may have at least a partial answer.

Should Atheists Give Invocations?

Another day (week) another outrage from American Atheists and their “allies”. Recently the 3rd Circuit Court of appeals  reversed a District Court decision concerning non-theists  giving invocations at the Pennsylvania State Legislature. Of course american Atheists released a statement, calling the 2-1 decision, “indefensible”. Is it?  Something AA didn’t do in their release is link the decision and cherry-picked  a single sentence from the 34 page decision (including the one dissent) to do nothing but attempt to provoke atheists in some way or other.

Has Interest in Atheism Declined?

I’ve received a few emails (okay, very few) from readers asking me why I don’t seem to be doing much if any writing concerning atheism. The reason is simple: there’s really not much to write about. I mean, I can replay the same old tropes, in their current form based on what I happen to read about, but there’s really nothing, iin my mind, noteworthy of any commentary. Times have changed where, just a few years ago, there was plenty to write about, or produce a podcast. Today, people, most, seem to have moved on to their lives, as they should.
