Detractors as Deranged

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – JUNE 30: Republican presidential candidate former U.S. President Donald Trump looks at the crowd after taking the stage during the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warriors national summit at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on June 30, 2023 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The self-labeled “parental rights” summit is bringing school board hopefuls from across the country where attendees will receive training and hear from Republican presidential candidates which include former U.S. President Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. The summit, which is being held in an overwhelmingly Democratic Philadelphia, has drawn protestors since the event was announced due to their pushing of book bans accusing schools of ideological overreach, including teaching about race, gender, and sexuality. This is the 2016 election all over again. Wherever the TV is tuned. it’s all Trump, all. day. Well, of course they have breaking news, about Trump, but beyond that, no, nothing but Trump all day. Understand that it was Trump that saved MSNBC and CNN because Trump haters could watch either of those channels get receive all the Trump Derangement they could swallow at any time of the day. Both of those case; “news” channels made profits during that election. During his presidency, they continued with TFS and remained at least a little competitive with Fox. Not much competitive, but some.

Another Trump Indictment Falls. The Left Cheers it as “Historic”

I tried to read the most current indictment against former President Trump today, but I’ll be honest and say, couldn’t get through it. A few pages. Five? Maybe a few more because all I saw were some charges of believing that the 2020 election was rigged against. him. I skimmed a little more looking for that red meat” and it was either not there, or I missed it. I assumed I had missed it because all over CNN and MSNBC, they had pundits calling this indictment “historic” on the plane with some very notable Supreme Court decisions. I couldn’t figure that one out since, a) This hasn’t been to trial yet, and why would they believe the Supreme Curt would ever become involved if it’s such a slam dunk prosecution?

Believe what you want but this is pure and simple a political persecution. Banana Republic (not the store) stuff. How much we have fallen in stature since the inception of the Biden Administration. Gee, I wonder if I can be arrested for criticizing the Biden Administration, yet.

What This Thing, ‘X’? What Will it Be?

IF you’ve been online recently, and have a “Twitter” account, you’ll have noticed that they name on the application itself has formally been changed to X. Why? It’s the first step in what appears to be a mega-transformation of the chatting service formerly known as Twitter. Elon Musk has already made some improvements to the platform, the first being the less people are being suspended/banne for stupid “rules” violations (rules that the crew there could never fully explain). At least I don’t see as many complaints a I used to. It’s also interesting that they’ve been allowing longer forms posts, including video. So now it seems a user can continue as is or go to a longer written or video format if wanted.

Adding to the Repertoire

I know I’ve mentioned this before, and by returning to the subject, I can hear the “Sure, sure” of many reading. This time though, Instead of just considering, I’m taking some initial steps to make ir happen. I’m not in a rush, but I’d like to get things cranked up as quickly as possible, with the least amount of stress.

I’m going to start a podcast.

When I’ve considered this in the past, a lot of questions came up that, even if I answered so4me of them,, made the endeavor prohibitive. For instance, where do I host this and what’s the cost? The answer was, “depends” on how much space I’d require for storage, for instance. Having done this in the ancient past, I know an hour is around half a gigabyte.

It looks like I’ve found (actually, they found me), the right place to start and everything I need is free. Editing tools, intro music, online help with different aspects like segments, for instance. Anyway, I’ll be working the next couple of weeks to get something up and let everyone know if you want to listen.

Who’s Looking Out For Your Civil Rights?

You’ve come a long way baby! That was the line from an advertising campaign in 1968. ~The advertiser was attempting to cash in on the women’s movement, what I called Feminist 2.0 at the time. A lot of young women, high school and college as well as some in the professions, became voices for a generation concerning the rights of women. Unlike today’s Feminist 3.0 follow-on, those women of the late 60’s through the 1970’s fought hard for recognition that women, too, were contributors to society beyond being housewives and mothers. Yes, you could be. feminist and anything else you desired to be, including a housewife and mother. Most of what I see today doesn’t come close to comparing to those days so many decades ago.
