I Don’t Care

I’ve come to the inevitable conclusion that I don’t care anymore. No matter how much I try, the goalposts for whatever it was that I believed in have moved, again, and I am just too damned tired to try and keep up. It’s not as if I was going to change the world by myself and for all the discussion I’ve had concerning certain subjects, I don’t think I’ve influenced a single person. I’m not looking to necessarily change minds, but to get people to understand that there are other points of view, many of them as valid as theirs. If one is open to rational argument, then it could be seen that there really is just one truth, that can been seen from multiple points off view.

Yes, Girls Still Like Pink

I remember a few years ago a huge kerfuffle amongst the feminist left of how girls should be advertised to in stores. These feminists noted that there was little in any kind of crossover toys for young ones: boys would get toy bulldozers, girls would get some sort of doll, or toy cookware. It was insulting to girls, some said, that girls were relegated to cooking and child rearing even at an early age.Did anyone ask the girls? hen there were those primary colors: for girls everything was pink or purple. Even the Easy Bake Oven was pink. Hardly a color anyone would choose for a kitchen appliance. Did anyone ask?

Unnecessary, Unneeded, and Unwanted

I always attempt to do the right thing, whatever it is or means at the moment. It’s fascinating to me how many people I know that are devoid of what I refer to as moral value. I’m not saying that everyone should be just like me, but it would be nice to see some others that don’t regularly cheer on those that have proven themselves, time over time, to be completely untrustworthy. A lack of trust so significant that unless I have to, I won’t even recognize these in any rational way whatsoever.I’m not proposing any physical harm come to these, just that more people begin to be their own best counsel in some cases and not let those who’ll do whatever it takes to retain their power or influence.

Atheist Scrutiny

Ever notice how, as an Atheist, others, including close friends and family, attempt to pigeon hole you as a person? You’re personality type, politics, yes, even your “anger” with a non-existent supernatural being. They call you “hypocrite” if you decorate a tree during the made-up Christmas Season, all the while knowing that the tree has nothing to do with the birth of their god, it’s a pagan affectation. How scrutinized your life has become by others that have yet to scrutinize their own. Isn’t there scripture that addresses this inconsistent behavior? (Matthew 7:3-5) If only believers read, understood, and followed their own holy text…

Do Atheists Believe in Heaven?

I was just perusing one of the latest Pew Research polls concerning religion, in this case, non-religion, or non-belief, aka Atheism. They ask a lot of questions. Some, are odd to me being that they’re asking what they’re calling “Atheists”. They ask atheists how often they read the bible(Hebrew/Christian) as well as if they pray(how often) and of course, if they believe in heaven/hell. Interesting responses from a minority of “Atheists” that I’ll expand upon in a later post. It takes a while to go through all of this information, but I’ll try to raise a few eyebrows when I co4me back to the topic, shortly.
