What would you do if you were informed that your child had been suspended or expelled from the prestigious college/university you and they had worked so hard to be accepted? I mean after the fire extinguisher had been applied to your hair?

Considering the cost of a 4 year college degree today, it would make any parent lose their mind to discover their precious one had been sent packing. Whether you paid for it or funded by guaranteed student loans, a lot of money was just lost. if parent-paid, you may have just taken the cash and set it alight on the patio because it’s gone forever. For student loans: even though the kid will never be accepted into a decent four year institution again, the current loans will still have to be repaid.

Add around six percent to those numbers for the current year (2023-2024). These, of course, are average numbers and may not reflect actual costs at the four year institution near you. Depending on the prestige or reputation, those numbers for a private school could double, or more.

We’ve all been young and dumb (to an extent) in our lives. But is violent protesting in favor of “Palestine” (Hamas, actually) worth any future? It’s not just the monies lost today, but future income and opportunities. Top corporations are probably going to skip over applicants that have been suspended . Those that have been expelled need not even apply. Of course, in both instances there’s decent money to be made in the trades. Those might be a bit more forgiving as to any academic issues of the recent past. Maybe not. There’s always jobs as laborers on construction crews. No experience required for some.

What seemed like the righteous action to take to become a real Social Justice Warrior may become the only title ever acquired.
