Let the Mud-Slinging Begin

I haven’t given up on blogging, I was just buy recently with other obligations and even though I probably had time to scribble something down, well, I didn’t. Most of my time was spent waiting on others and I don’t like to begin writing and then be interrupted for a while. I never seem to ome back after tht so it’s better to not blog at all. At least for me. I’ve lost all track of what’s going on other than I undestan that there’s going to be two presidential debates. One in Jyne and the other in September. Good.

The earlier the better, as far as I’m concerned. A lot of people, it seems from my point of view, are undecided overall. One friend I had a conversation with recently told me that to him the choices were like “which poison would you prefer”? His version of the lesser or two evils, I guess. I ddi see a short “challenge” video from president Biden that tried to make him appear to be the tough guy. It was 14 seconds long. It was reported they had 5 edits in that time. A real winner there. Of course Trump responded with his usual attack style. I thought he should’ve been different in this case and just laughed. It would’ve said a lot more than any amount of words.

Being that these are occurring before the country votes should help anyone that’s undecided be able to draw a sharp contrast between the two candidates. My concern will be the same as it always has been: the moderators. Most of the media really despise Trump and even though they are probablynnot huge fans of Biden either, I csn almost guarantee they will try to skew the debate in Biden’s favor. When (not if) Biden flubs his lines, they’ll do everything they can to cover for him. If Trump says something they disagree with, the moderators will attempt to point out what’s wrong with what he said. It’ just the way it is, unfortunately for we, the voters, in that these could be very informative, but rarely, if ever, are.

I will attempt t watch, at least until the grubby partisan moderators get to much for me, then it’s pff to do something productive. These could be interesting because this will be the firsr time ever two presidents debated (current, former) for the office. They both have records and people will be able to view them in that context. Although there won’t be any hardcore minds changed after, there’s a chance that the independents really will swing the vote in every state.

Democracy in action.
