I’m glad the election is over and I can now come back here and write something beyond Washington politics. I even came to the point earlier this year where I could not bear to view any of the cable channels because, well, it seemed to me all any of them reported on all day, was the coming presidential election. Refreshing not to have to go through hours of nonsense speculation by so-called “experts” when there are other things going on in the world.
Not that who the “leader of the free world” is going to be is not important. It’s just that those on television, and yes, even radio, continue to stretch out a “story” that really isn’t and try to make news where there is none. It’s not just tiresome, it’s annoying and there comes a point when I never wanted to hear the names “Biden”, “Trump”, and later “Harris”, ever again.
I did vote however. You know the adage concerning voting and complaining, right? SO, yes, I vote and after I figure I have not only performed my duty as a citizen, but, no matter how it turns out, are finished with this mess for at least two years (midterm elections). I hope everyonereading this voted as well because it is important to exercise a privilege that few others on this planet actually enjoy. Sure, other countries have elections, but in many cases (can you think of any off the top pf your head?) the results have been predetermined.
Of course we had the usual suspects crying at the results and claiming they were leaving the country for good (like they do every time they lose and election). My response? Buh-bye! Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. How many have left since November 6? Just asking.
Try not to take too much too seriously. It’s bad for your health both physically and of course mentally. Keep smilin’!
