The change I’m hoping to see from the election is that it’s okay for people to have differing views and we don’t have to shun one another just because we happen to disagree. I hope we’ve seen the end of the lunatic left that did so much to color ths last election, red. It wasn’t a tidal wave by any definition, but it was a wave of sorts that showed throughout the country, even in very blue areas that people had had enough.
It doesn’t matter what your political affiliation may be, because the lunacy affected everyone at one point or another. Whatever happened to discussion, or even polite debate? We have government that dictates what will be, ignoring what their constituency cares about. What are those issues? The economy and illegal immigration, crime top the list. Sure, abortion is important for a number but falls short when people are worried about paying bills and putting food on the table for their family.
It may be a while before your friends, family, even colleagues, want to socialize again because of your ideological differences, but that’s okay because, sooner than later, they too will realize that this oppressive atmosphere wast hoist upon them as well and that not that long ago, we could all agree to disagree without screaming at one another or even (I’ve witnessed this) coming to fisticuffs.
Those that want to hibernate and dream of a world where only their opinion mattered may still do so but we won’t miss them, will we?
