
The criticism I hear most from believers, as an atheist, is that I do not respect their belief. I often look quizzically when I hear that because I have never thought it incumbent on anyone to respect someone else’s belief, blindly. Respect, at least to me, is something earned, and for me, it’s something I apply to individuals, not beliefs.
There’s more news in the Catholic Church child abuse scandal I thought I might report. As this story gathers steam, I’ve decided to continue to write about it. We all need to do what we can to keep this story alive and do what we can to hold those accountable that have been sexually abusing children for decades, if not longer.
There doesn’t seem to be a day that goes by without my seeing some believer on social media saying something about morality and how morality flows from God. Every atheist I know, including myself have addressed this at one or another time whether on social media, in a blogpost, or even face-to-face.
