It’s too bad that we’ve allowed social media to become so important, so much a part of our daily lives that when the platform suspends or even bans some users, we’re all up in arms about free speech and call for the government to become involved and regulate these various platforms like they are a utility.
With all of the complaints I keep seeing from people on social media, about. social media, I wonder how in the world any of these platforms can still exist? It isn’t that every other. tweet I see is a complaint, but it seems to be a fairly common refrai9n I see when perusing my timeline during the day.
I’ve written about free speech a bit on this site. It’s a subject I am passionate about and I think we should all have the right of freedom of expression no matter where we live. Sadly, we’re a long way for this, what I consider and essential freedom, to be implemented everywhere.
I’ve written about social media a bit here and I pretty much have the same opinion of it as I always have: It’s not a place I want to hang out on much because of the type of people that seem to spend their entire day there complaining about one thing or another. Or, as with a few people, I seem to get to know everything they do, every moment of their day and I really don’t need to know that much about someone I’ve never met in person.
I like observing what happens on social media. Although I’m not an addict to it, I think I may spend too much time per day perusing. Sometimes I think I really need to get away from it, but there is just too much going on that keeps me interested for 2-3 hours a day. Sometimes more.
