You may recall that I’ve mentioned that I really enjoy watching YouTube lately. Well, I think I said I had recently become addicted to the channel, and that’s still true. I believe it’s because that instead of watching cop, fire, or medical shows – which is what watching broadcast television consists of today – this is all original content. And by original I mean on pretty much any subject anyone can think of at anytime.

I noticed earlier that, as usual, people come to this site and look at my past posts. From years ago. Sometimes, from back in my early days of blogging. Today, I noticed someone had pulled up my post about Atheist TV back in 2014. Honestly, I don’t think I gave Atheist T.V. much thought since I published that piece because, as I wrote then, it was only available to be streamed on Roku, and I didn’t own one and still don’t).

There is no more television. At east the way it was when I was growing up. It looks like all the good content is now streamed on pay-to-stream networks now. So we not only have Netflix and Hulu, but Peacock (NBC), Paramount+(CBS), Disney+ (ABC) as well as a host of others including Amazon and Apple. There are s lot of free streaming services as well, like Pluto, Tubi, Plex and others as well as specialty streaming sites like eSPN (sports) and others that focus on children’s programming. So, we’ve come a long way since the advent of public, over the air programing, in less than 100 years.

I’m going to admit to a problem. I’m an addict. A television addict. Why do I know this? Bevause, the last few months one of the first things I do in the morning is turn on the TV. I even know what’s on, during the week, when. Well, normally. Sometimes, stations will abruptly change their programming. I tend to think it’s just to piss me off.
