I’ll Show You Mine, if…

Do I have a target on my forehead? I am always coming into contact with people that want to relay the truth about something or other to me. Not the truth, but that person’s version of truth. What they refer to as my truth. What the heck does that even mean? Is it possible for every person to have their own truth about any and everything? What happens when that “truth” is shown to be nothing more than wishful thinking built upon faulty facts?

Ahh…The Good ‘ol Days

I recall, as a kid, my parents, with their friends discussing “The Good ‘Ol Days”. Precisely when were these days, I wondered only to discover that they were those days past, when life was simpler. I’ve found myself reminicing similarly lately. Maybr it’s a function of becoming older when everything in the past was better. Not better in the sense of superior, but better in that life seemed easier to navigate.

Living With Religion

I don’t despise believers, of any faith. Nor do I turn their sincere belief into some joke or pun. The reason, as many of you already know, is because I, too, was once a believer and struggled with that belief for a long time before I finally stopped wrestling with the idea of belief and realized that I could no longer believe. Atheism, as I have written before, was not a choice, but a conclusion.

Remember May 14, 1948

You can rewrite history, but only when all the witnesses are dead. Thar’s what I think about when I see young Americans attempting to blame Israel for all the woes of the Arab peoples in the West Bank and Gaza. Attempting to rewrite history and blame not only the current conflict on Israel’s IDF, forgetting that this war began with Hamas invading Israel and killing more than 1200 people and taking more than 200 hostage.
