Is Anti-Zionism, Antisemitism?

mOf all the recent news, one story that has piqued my interest is that of Carrie Prejean Boller. Who’s that you ask? She’s a member(well, depending on a future outcome) of President Trumps Religious Liberty Commission who was “fired” from the commission by chairman and Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Dan Patrick for, well, supposed antisemitic statements. What was it Ms. Boller said that prompted this disagreeable charge? She simply questioned whether or not anti-Zionism is antisemitism. She said that as a Catholic, her faith did not require her to support Zionism. Not being Catholic, I have no idea what the Catholic church says about Zionism and frankly, I don’t care. I don’t want to turn this into an argument for or against Zionism, but instead, what constitutes religious freedom. One would think, however, that a commission on “religious liberty” would be agreeable to questions concerning anything that has to do with any religion. I guess not.

Don’t Let the Door Hit You on Your Way Out

Notice that whenever a Republican wins the presidency, there are a lot of (rich) people claiming they’re leaving the U.S. fpr good because, Republicans are bad (or something). This last election, i was that Donald Trump is a Fascist. His opponent, the current Vice President of these United States even responded affirmatively when asked directly if she believed Trump was a Fascist. Seriously. I recall watching that with mouth agape. I mean, you may not like your political opponent, but to declare that person, and his or her followers as something evil, even as Hitler, goes beyond the pale in my opinion. I really believe that helped Mr. Trump win.

Opinions are Like…What?

I’ve been accused, many time in my life, of not really caring what other people think. I know that to be true, sometimes, but in general, I don’t believe that’s true. What’s more true is that I won’t listen to idiots. How am I able to discern someone worth listening to versus someone I consider an idiot? I’m actually not sure what to say other than experience.

Law fare and Nothing but Law fare

Honestly. i am so exhausted from wall-to-wall Trump news stories. every time I want to watch the news. It’s almost all any of them discuss. There seems to be only three stories the U.S. media are covering in overdrive: Trump, Gaza protests , and Immigration. Trump, trumps the news, always in first place (no pun here) then, depending on the day, it’s either immigration or Gaza protests for second place. Is there nothing else going on in the world that may be of interest to viewers?

Is it Trump Nation Now?

I didn’t blog yesterday. Everyone needs a day off, right? Well, that’s really not the reason. I couldn’t think of any more dumb stuff to say about anything. The news, overall, is depressing, and after a while, I think we all need to just walk away from it for a while to regain our sense of proportion and sanity, So, I did something I very rarely do on the weekend: I watched the news.
