Since the so-called “pandemic” a lot of services have popped up around me that were not available before, because I don’t live in a large, or even midsize, metropolitan area. Just a few months prior ///9and I mean 2-3 in reality) there was no /Uber where I lived, no Instacat or Doordash to have groceries delivered directly to me (wow!) and no GrubHub or UberEats to have my favorite restaurants delivered directly to me as well.
So for all the problems for people, caused by the government, during “Covid”, the thing that, at least for me, popped out as a positive, were all of the services. I’m so lazy, that I immediately took advantage as I wanted. Mostly at first, it was GrubHub, but then Instacart hit our little town and guess what? No more last minute runs to the local grocery store, or almost every brick and mortar business in town (Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Lowes, you get it). Do I even need to own a car anymore?
What about entertainment? Well, all of the streaming applications are n9ow available on smart televisions and those boxes ar cheap compared to even 4 years ago. I can but a 60 inch smart tv at Walmart for under $500. What about bars, clubs, and eating out on occasion? Uber. No one wants a possible DUI and so instead of designating someone in your party as the “designated driver”, there’s one available, 24/7.
I also work from from and almost never have to show up in person because long before the “pandemic” we were having video conferences on a regular basis. And if I had to show up? Again, Uber. All my basic needs are taken care of aren’t they?
Of course, there’s little to no human interaction on any regular basis but hey! You have to give up something to attain Utopia. What good has that ever been for human kind? Locked behind those closed doors, just opening the blinds or curtains as needed, never answering the door unless you’re expecting a delivery…What else do any of us need?
