Honestly. i am so exhausted from wall-to-wall Trump news stories. every time I want to watch the news. It’s almost all any of them discuss. There seems to be only three stories the U.S. media are covering in overdrive: Trump, Gaza protests , and Immigration. Trump, trumps the news, always in first place (no pun here) then, depending on the day, it’s either immigration or Gaza protests for second place. Is there nothing else going on in the world that may be of interest to viewers?
I realize these cases against the former president are unprecedented and historic, but people are not stupid, didn’t need to be informed constantly that all of this was about the upcoming election and democrats (real, substantial) fear that their loser, Joe Biden, would this time go down n the election. Hard. there’s no pandemic to hide in a basement from, only his abysmal presidential record.
There’s the economy, which seems to be of most importance to voters, but for some reason, Trump-all-day-everyday, is what the powers behind the scenes at the networks believe draws more eyes. Maybe it does. Maybe.Which, dear reader, interests you more: Trump Lawfare ir literally anything else?
Okay, for some poor economic news. Did anyone hear the new sanctions Biden is applying to China’s exports to the U.S.? 100% tariff of Chinese made EV’s. Sounds great, right? The problem with it is the U.S. does not import any EV’s from China currently. So, whoopsie-doodle! A useless sanction. How about 25% on steel? Didn’t Trump do that and Biden reverse when he came into office? Now that he really needs Union support (from the rank and file) for the election, this is just pandering and will do nothing. If he wants to do something, how about reversing his on fracking? Gas prices are rising quickly and just reversing that EO would drive those prices down sooner rather than later. But Biden is a climate-change-looney, and we’ll never see that happen as long as he’s president. Will ths chnge voter perception before the election? Too little, (actually, nothing) too late. Inflation is slowing creeping upwards. Groceries before cars and steel, I think.
Now that’s some news worth more than a 4 minute segment, isn’t it? It affects everyone, of every economic stratum, but more so, the working and middle classes, who are the majority of the electorate.
In Foreign Policy, our allies may have disliked President Tump, but they appear to view resident Biden as someone not worth paying any attention to, ever. The late (that I’m aware of) is thr direct snub of Biden’s threat to withhold arms from israel if thet enter Rafah. David Csmerson (former Prime Minister, now Secretary of State) was unequivcal in his announcement that Great Britian would continue shipents to Israel. But then, Cameron is not worried about a few votes in Michigan. It also is a public example of the “F You” attitude towards President Biden. America was the lead in all things foreign affairs, Now, Britain and France are vying for that position. /The U;S. has become a pitiful third place finisher. If that high.
There’s a lot more going on, and if the media would only takenote, they’d find a better informed electorate than the thought as well as probably increase ther overall viewership.
