Notice that whenever a Republican wins the presidency, there are a lot of (rich) people claiming they’re leaving the U.S. fpr good because, Republicans are bad (or something). This last election, i was that Donald Trump is a Fascist. His opponent, the current Vice President of these United States even responded affirmatively when asked directly if she believed Trump was a Fascist. Seriously. I recall watching that with mouth agape. I mean, you may not like your political opponent, but to declare that person, and his or her followers as something evil, even as Hitler, goes beyond the pale in my opinion. I really believe that helped Mr. Trump win.

Even before he’s sworn in, at least one Hollywood has-been has departed our shores for a much more restrictive society. That’s right, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife have left for the U.K. I wonder what she’s really afraid of. Trump will round up and cage the gay population? Remember Rick Grenell, the Ambassador to Germany and then Director of National Intelligence? Trump will have his detractors investigated by the FBI and, when he can, have them jailed? No, that’s the Biden administration, but don’t tell the fanboy/girls that. Is there any evidence any of this occurred during his first term? No. So, what is it that makes these rich people (DeGeneres’ is estimated worth is $500 million) believe that the country will become unlivable for them?

Biden has taken us to the brink of World War 3 with Russia and they’re leaving because their chosen candidate was rejected by the electorate. Of course, if Putin starts shootin’ (not bad!) the United Kingdom won’t be any safer.

Now that DeGeneres has broken the ice, so to speak, as to leaving, I wonder if any of the other usual whiners who always threaten will as well. Notice though where they probably won’t go: Mexico. It seems Canada and Europe are the favorite destinations. Get over to England and pay their 80% top tsax rate, or France with similar taxation. Not to mention EU rules over almost everything in your daily life. Oh, and free speech? Not immortalized in any document in any other country. Good luck with your slanders on social media: The Government, in this instance IS actually watching you.

With DeGeneres’ departure, the country became a little better today.
