Anyone notice the absence of Tulsi Gabbard since the beginning of the conflict with Iran(I’ve heard we’re not supposed to call this a “war”)? As Director of National Intelligence, she’s been noticeably absent within the Trump administration. At every possible meeting with reporters where we hear from, not only the President, but Secretaries of War and State as well. Not even a photo of her with the President at any recent security meeting. Curious? Has Tulsi submitted her resignation over this military extravagance? A quick search, especially since one of her deputies, Joe Kent, resigned today over his objection to this action, shows a very brief, tepid statement:”Trump’s the boss, he decides threats, we just give him info.” Which says a lot without saying anything.

Tulsi Gabbard, a decorated soldier herself, former democrat member of Congress, has long been against these Middle East adventurism like we’ve seen multiple times this century. It certainly seemed she was not someone held hostage by the Israel lobby, having taken very little in campaign donations compared to others(democrat or republican) receiving hundreds of thousands from lobbies like AIPAC. Maybe, either because she did receive some campaign funds, she feels she cannot comment negatively or, maybe as DNI she’s seen the intelligence that shows Iran was indeed a more immediate threat to our national security. I would like to believe the later, because for meat accept any other reason, would be a huge disappointment to one of the few democrats in and out of Congress I’ve ever respected. Always, she seemed true to her word.

Her public absence just looks strange during this kinetic action and I think it would behoove the administration yo get her out front as soon as possible because her absence from the stage just lends to the theory that the administration is fractured over this war for Israel.
