Screen Blind

I remember thinking, when I first joined Twitter (X) some years back, about how much personal information people post about their personal lives. Not just themselves, but their families – including their children – to the degree I got to know some of these people, that I’d never met and still haven’t, more than my own. family. That was very strange to me t the time and after all of these years, it still seems that way to me today. Why would anyone want to post their most intimate details of their lives to thousands (millions?) of complete strangers?

Even if you were a complete retard in real life, would you want everyone you don’t know to know this about you? I mean, your family is already dealing with your stupidity, why are you embarrassing them by displaying it for the entire universe to see? Most people wouldn’t and that shows how peoples entire world revolves around a social media platform. It’s not just kids that spend too much time looking at screens daily, it is all of us in one way or the other.

I hsve to look at screens for my job daily. Eight or more hours a day. By the time I’m done for the day, one thing I really don’t want to do id stsrt perusing the net on my iPad or laptop. I’m using my iPad right now, but to blog and as soon as I’m done? It’s put down, hopefully, for the evening. Sure, every once in a while, I need to look something up, or like last evening, I was doing mintenence on my site, but that’s about it.

I know it may sound crazy but there are plenty of books to read and even movies I can watch on all of the (free) streaming channels I can receive on my TV. So a quick remonstrance to you (and me), after you read this and “like” it: Go hug your souse or significant other, and maybe play with your kids before their bedtime. Let them know that social media isn’t important to you, they are.
