We, as secularists in particular, need to start organizing politically.
I just listened to an interview with Dave Brat, who defeated Eric Cantor in a primary. What were the first words out of his mouth? He was thanking god for his victory. Typical Christian crap.
Listening to that is why we need to organize and find good, smart candidates ourselves to run for office. Sure we have all these secular organizations that lobby the government or sue local and state governments to ensure a separation of church and state, but what if we actually started electing candidates to office?
If a guy like Brat, with basically no money, no national support, hell, no state support, can defeat the Majority Leader in Congress, how badly can we do?
Think about it.
