There’s a reason that people are less and less likely to trust the news now days. Take this “Breaking News “ headline from the CBC:
Although the tweet was “technically accurate”, it focused on the shooting of the 2 attackers. I wonder, if after 9/11 had there been a headline like this:
“19 Men Die After Hijacking Three Planes” if that may have caused any controversy.
Of course, an hour later, they begin to tell the story:
Why is the media in such a rush to “break” news before they have the story? They all do it, and often, they get the story completely wrong in the beginning. Why not take the extra time before trying to beat your competition? Is being first better than being right?
In these days, it looks like it.
