Explaining Political Beliefs in Unrelated Subjects

One fairly new activity for me is perusing YouTube. I was really amazed with all of the various videos on topics I never considered people would be spending time creating. From renovating homes to creating living spaces in vans, along with topics in hstory, archeology, and the various sciences. I’ve come to the conclusion that I really only need a single channel to view. Well, maybe not, but you get my point, right? there’s a lot out there that conforms, I believe, to everyone’s taste. Sure, for the majority of you, my “find” is old news. Well, I never claimed to e on top of verything around me. I am happy to find that the new mewdia sites are less of the usual. One thing I’ve found off-putting are people veering away from the purpose of their channel to make some political statement based on current events.

I honestly don’t get it and for. me, it’s off putting because now I know for certain channels, that whenI tune over to them, I’m not sure if I’m going to view interesting content that made the channel popular, or some rant about, uggh, politics. There’s already plenty of channels onYouTube that discuss both sides of any political question anyone may have. I know because I subscribe to to several. Ye, even conservatives like to know why the “other side” is either for or against some policy and gues what? There are some good arguments being made, something none of us regularly receive through legacy media. But I digress. I don’t look watch a channel on science, history, or religion, to get the creator’s view on the Republican or Democratic party. nor do I care what they believe about any policy they may be for or against. I watch them for their “expertise” in the subject or topic for which they created the channel.

In one case, I think the creator got on and went through a multi-minute explanation about his “true” politics because he was losing viewers based on the idea that he didn’t conform with their political ideology. What does current political ideology have to do with his subject? Well, according to him, they are intertwined to. degree but so what? It’s interesting to discover that, over time, people’s base ideologies have moved very little. Why apologize for recognizing that as a fact? Does that mean the creator has to agree or disagree with anything specifically? No, just present the facts as are known at let the audience determine what they want.

If you’re a creator worried about your audience taking your presentations the wrong way, then maybe you’re either dishonest or belong in a different business, but please don’t burden we, your viewership, with your history of being a really good person or that you’re just “damned angry” at what you view on legacy media, not understanding, of course, that’s their entire purpose in the way they structure their stories. If you’re not smart enough to realize that in many instances, you’re being purposefully manipulated to believe one thing over another, maybr you are in the wrong business (presenting facts).

Maybe try home renovation. I really like those shows.
