Ban All Religious Symbols in Government

Sometimes, people are just silly. We all know that and sometimes that silliness comes int the public square and actually, for a minute, becomes news. Today’s silliness has to do woth the White House Press Secretary’s wearing of a Christian cross necklace during press conferences. What? Would their be a complaint if it were the Str of David? How about the Hammer of Thor? See how this sounds? Even an atheist (me) can see the idiocy of that.

I don’t expect anyone to have to hide their religious belief because they’ve suddenly in the public eye. Besides, I have no idea whether what she wears truly represents her sincere belief or not. How many people wear dsome religious symbol(like a crucifix/cross) tht are we,, not exactly whatanyone might refer to as “believers”. I know people that wear these. that haven’t been to church since childhood and probably couldn’t quote John 3:16 (yes, even atheists are familiar with this one).

If anything, it’s the faithful that should take umbrage over their symbols and scripture being displayed willy-nilly by those that, for all intents and purposes , do not actually follow the precepts of that which they silently claim by badging up.

So what are some upset about? I think it’s because of the size, that another person can actually see it from a distance of say, five feet away. I wonder i there’d be an objection to one of those tiny gold pendants that are hardly noticeable from a foot away? Of course, men wear these sym ols as well, but usually not above their dress shirt and tie. How about we ban anyone in the government from wearing anything that depicts their religious or social belief?

What about Congress. Isn’t there art least one member of Congress that proudly displays his Jewish belief by wearing a yamaka? Sur4 there is and probably more than just the one. We need to make sure there are no symbols or references to any religious belief in any of their offices and also that none of their staff make or have any displays themselves.

Don’t we have more important issues to complain about?
