Do Zionists Not Fight for America?

From where I sit, on the outside it’s interesting to watch Christians go at it, after one another on the topic of Israel and especially Christian Zionism. Many Christians identify this way because they believe, as they have been taught in their churches, that the foundation of the modern Israel (1948) harkens the beginning of the End Times for the world. The Second Coming of Christ. So they are eager to support whatever government exists in that small strip of land. For Christians ///9most) the ownership of the land is clear: just read the Old Testament scriptures. God gave this land to the Hebrews, the descendants of Abraham, end of story. No debate or argument allowed. Well, except the same scriptures show that there were other people that lived in that land before the now Jewish people and those people were driven away by the ancestors of these same people, according to their own sacred scriptures.

Who actually “owns” this land? Today? The Jewish State of Israel, but even as long as just 100 years ago, it was someone else (look at a map, pre World War I, and again After World War II. There was no State of Israel, and in this modern time, no one had to conquer it. It was given to them and nearly a million residents whose families had been there generations, were forced to leave.

As far as I am aware, no one in this current argument is advocating for kick the current residents, the Israelis, out. /The argument is whether or not we should be supporting this regime with our blood and treasure. Every current country on this planet has been conquered and reconquered over the af=ges and will probably be again. It’s our nature to take that which is not ours, even claiming in some instances that “god” is on our side and “god” wants us to have your land and home. Here in the US, we “won” the Southwest, including Califormia in a war with Mexico. Before that, we “bought” what is known as the “Louisiana Purchase” from Napolian and France. Of course, no one lived in either of those lands before america owned them. Right?

We should beware of who and what we support without understanding the inevitable consequences for that support (Iraq, anyone? Afghanistan?). Being anti-Zionist does not make someone anti-Jewish or antisemitic. In fact, most anti-Zionists would be agahst if they were referred to as antisemitic. By the way, antisemitism concerns more than just Jewish people. Semitic peoples are those that speak Hebrew and Arabic, as well as Amharic (the language of Ethiopia). So when you refer to someone as antisemitic, understand what you’re referring to.
