Holy crap! I had no idea that there was a “SWAT Lobby”.

It now appears that the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) is actively lobbying Congress now to not take away the military gear they get from the Department of Defense.

It looks like that due to the media attention of the militarized police presence in Ferguson, and the outrage that ensued across the country that there is a bi-partisan effort to look into just what the hell is going on with civilian police departments around the country.

Note the NTOA represents 1,600 SWAT teams. That deserves another “holy crap!”. I’m wondering if that’s all the SWAT teams in the country or not.

This reminds me, I just bought this and started reading last evening and I think if you’re interested in this subject at all, should get it as well. So far it’s definitely worth my time.
