Not sure what to think about this.

My initial reaction? Not so much. I’m not gratified about seeing troops placed in harms way again although I will concede that ISIS, if not an immediate threat to the west today, will be in the near future.
The Middle East is a mess and will be for the foreseeable future and there’s not a lot that can be done about it unless the west wants to commit to a sustained ground war, in multiple countries (Syria, Iraq, Libya) to clean it up and then occupy that area for the next century or so to ensure some sort of stability.
I don’t think there’s the will or the resources for that right now though.
