Is Bernie Inevitable? Can We Trust the South Carolina Results?

Today, I believe,  will be the most important day of the Democratic primaries. It’s been predicted that Joe Biden will win the South Carolina Primary anywhere from 4 to 12%. There is an outlier poll that shows him up 22% but I’d be surprised if he won by that much. Although many democrats are afraid of a Bernie Sanders nomination, a similar amount do not see Joe Biden as their first choice to be able to take the White House this fall. It is a conundrum for some: Do they vote for the unabashed “Democratic Socialist” on the ticket or for one of the others who, even though many in the media describe as moderate, clearly are not in any way.

Feeling “The Bern” Yet?

6ACFC8F8-0450-444C-80A2-59135FF464DC

So it appears right now that Sen. Bernie Sanders has the momentum for the Democratic nomination going into South Carolina and then, 3 days later, “Super Tuesday”.  It’s actually amusing to watch those on the cable networks (especially the left-wing ones: CNN, MSNBC) have a tantrum about a “socialist” receiving the nomination. Heck, it even appeared to me, watching the results of the Nevada Caucus, that MSNBC was going full #NeverBernie. I don’t think I’ve seen so many “journalists” and pundits lose their minds since Trump won the 2015 election of Clinton. then, nothing’s a done deal until the last votes are counted, but indications show that Sanders may even win South Carolina, which was supposed to be Joe Biden’s “firewall”. The pools show them neck-and-neck.

The Exodus from AAI

What’s going on at Atheist Alliance International? I read in my Twitter feed that our friend Courtney Heard (AKA @Godless_Mom) has resigned her co-Executive Directorship, along with Bridget Guadette, this week. The last time. wrote anything about this was when, late last year, I wrote this about David Silverman former president of American Atheists) being hired as Executive Director. Now I know why Courtney and Bridget were hired because according to Courtney, David left the organization this past January. I didn’t put it together then but that’s nothing new for me.

I’m Going to Try and Watch the Debate Tonight

0D140D76-C3BA-434D-870C-15E4AC455465

I’m considering watching the Democratic debate this evening. Mainly because of the sudden rise of Mike Bloomberg and how he’s going to perform because I expect, based on everything I’ve see or read so far this week, that he’ll be a huge target (no pun intended) for the others on the stage. Plus, I want to know more about what he stands for – what hius platform us – other than what I’ve watched in his very slick ads that have even been running where I live. Mostly what I’ve seen is his anti-gun ads as well as some about employment in NYC while he was mayor. I did see a story where he’s proposing raising the corporate tax to 28%, but that’s about all I know.

Being a “Racial Terrorist”

I have, it seems, exceeded my wildest dreams as a social media user: I am now considered a racial terrorist. No, I’m not joking and I found it amusing that I was mentioned in a list of just awful people (being facetious here). the mention comes from a comment on a friends blog that she happily tweeted out to us. It stems from a conversation several of us were having on Twitter concerning a writer for an unknown (to me at least) online publication that seemed to be attacking our mutual friend, Sarah Braasch, ad nauseam.  If anyone here is still unfamiliar with Sarah’s story, just do a search on her name from my homepage. You can also look at SkepticReview  for other blog posts concerning her situation.
