Spain Wants to end Gender Discrimination by…What?

In a bid to end gender discrimination, Spain is urging women to go topless. Spain already allows women to go topless on public beaches but other situations are usually regulated by local authorities. The idea is to de-sexualize women’s bodies. I don’t know if this will solve any discrimination issues about women’s bodies and I wonder, as I always do, if the government of Spain has fully thought this through. What are the possible downsides for women going topless at more venues? If this happens, we’ll probably never know as the U.S. media rarely report anything outside of the U.S.
