Sometimes when I compose a post, I think, Well, this one should get more than a couple of views. Occasionally, I’m right. Mostly, I’m not. It’ okay though because I’m not that well known and have less than 200 subscribers, not all of them looking at the blog everyday.

So I took, early on, to posting these to Twitter (now X) and that helped a little as I began getting some interactions which translated to a few views. Even when i wrote something I thought would really take off – it fell flat (mostly). The largest number of views I ever received was a piece I wrote abut an interview with Adam Baldwin (star of Firefly and The Last Boat) where I criticized his interviewer (some Brit). Baldwin saw my post and retweeted it. That was a good day to be a blogger! I really thought my average number would rise, at least some by then because of all the views I had that day ( a couple of thousand)but no, within a day, it went back to normal.

Yes, I look at my statistics, not only to see how many views I receive and where they originate (China?), but also the topics that seem to attract more people to this site. The top of the list is (mostly always) atheism. Sure, I write about atheism, probably not as much as I used to because over time, I noticed my viewers declining because I looked like a one trick pony. So I diversified what I wrote about, but the numbers didn’t really change. I took on a little controversy, but those are short lived and once I ha written. few posts, I could tell it was time to move on, even if what I was writing about remained.

I see now, however, that was probably a mistake so I’ve decided to begin writing more about atheism (and skepticism – the name of this blog sort of demands it, doesn’t it?) I’ll continue to write about anything that really interests me at the time, and I hope you’ll stick around. Yopu never know what’s going to happen next around here.
