Is the Christmas Holiday Constitutional?

One question I never seem to hear from anyone this time of year is should we, in the U.S., actually have designated a holiday for Christmas? Think about it, it’s a sectarian celebration, and with the federal government designating December 25th as a national holiday, are they not in fact in violation of the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment?

What War on Christmas?

This time of year, when I hear Christians start discussing the War on Christmas, I always have to ask, what war? I’ve never witnessed anything that I would consider a war on the upcoming holiday and if it’s just the idea that not everyone happens to say Merry Christmas, then I have to call foul because that’s a ridiculous reason to make accusations against anyone.

I Don’t Accept Your View of Me

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this, probably too many to link, but I don’t hate anyone. I don’t even hate ideas. In fact, it bothers me to even have to write that word here because it is something I just don’t do. I certainly don’t respect some people or ideas, but that’s a lot different that using the “H” word to describe what I think or feel about anyone or anything. I’ve always found it confounding that there are those that actually believe that disrepsect equals a form of hate. I think they may need a dictionary.

No Proof of Jesus?

As many who come here regularly know, I lean towards being a mythicist as to whether there ever was a real person names Jesus. I know I’m in a distinct minority, but the more reading I do, the more I look at the New Testament, none of it actually adds up to there being a real person that went by the name of Jesus.
