I believe it’s time for all of us to begin being more skeptical of the i formation we consume daily. We can have an opinion, but that doesn’t blunt facts and opinion is like a wish, nothing else required. Sure, some will say their opinions are fact based, but I venture this: Those facts are harvested only to prove a preconceived notion. When all the facts are gathered and evaluated together, sometimes it’s discovered that nothing presupposed is true.
I get a kick out of online drama. It’s nothing new of course, if it’s not a couple of people posting on X going after each other, then it’s podcasters (oops! “content creators”) or something else. There are always sides and a lot of the time I find both sides compelling. I’m not really a fence sitter, I just think that in order to make a reasoned determination on whatever the silly issue happens to be at the time, I need to hear both sides (or more) that’s being offered.

Ever notice that it seems more and more people today are just operating off emotion instead of reason? We can find it everywhere, not just in political discourse, but everywhere in our lives. I would have thought that by now, in the 21st century, that we’d have more people of reason than those that live by those tenets that specifically reject anything to do with the same.
As atheists and skeptics, we’re often confronted by people making claims that are just not provable by the person making the claim. We often come up against theists that claim God exists, but when we ask for proof, they tend to try and turn the argument around and ask us to prove God doesn’t exist. Proving a negative isn’t possible, that’s why claimants that provide no evidence are usually waved off by most people.
Decency has long gone by the wayside.
