Mean What You Say

When I was a believer, I made it a point to never say anything I didn’t mean. I don’t think that’s just for believers, but something everyone should consider and take to heart. To this day, I still abide by that to the best of my ability. I haven’t always succeeded, but I make an effort daily because there’s nothing wrong with having a creed to live by.Mine has to do with being honest and straightforward with others – but not without compassion. Sometimes it’s hard to look a friend in the eyes and say things needed to be said, but in saying, jeopardizing what may have been a long term relationship. Is it worth losing a friend? It may be depending on the circumstance but if being straightforward is too much for some others, then it’s just possible they’ve really never been friends to begin with.
