In 2019, I wrote a piece here titled, We Need to Cancel Cancel Culture and showed (I believe) why this is bad for society in general. As a conservative, this really didn’t affect me directly, because the left, those that refer to themselves as progresive, mainly attacked others on the left that were not far enough left for them. As I’ve said before, many times, the left loves to eat their own. It’s a cannibalistic tribe. We still see it going on today, although less, as many on the left have realized that they are not the firefighters of society, but the arsonists, in this casem burning down their own house.

While those on the left are still cleaning up from their internal civil war, another one has broken out. This time it’s on the right. It‘a conservatives who’ve picked up the banner the left has left (mostly) behind. The right, that being political Republicans, and right-leaning Independents, are in a war for the heart of America and those that have left the MAGA tent, are being excoriated and dragged by those that hang on by a thread to the promises made, but never kept Trump sycophants. Those are not only angry, but hurt and confused. They demand obedience to the leader, the True Conservative Savior. But it’s too late for many.

Those that were true believers, and even some that weren’t but voted for our president because they believed he would do s he campaigned (most like what his first term was like), but it didn’t take long, after the inaguration, for for the many to become, well, dissapointed. These were the Epstein Files bunch. Those that had demanded the government release everything on the case of the alleged pedophile. It was suspected that there would be many names on a list of friends of Jeffery Epstein that would be outed as participants. These people being giants of industry and, well, not a few politicians. Even though the Justice Department did release a lot of files, none of them were what some were seeking. It was as if, as normal, Washington were protecting the elite.

The administration attempted to silence those critics by changing the narrative. Enter, the Twelve Day War against Iran in June of 2025. Those videos of Iran’s nuclear sites being hit, were definitely Must Watch TV for me at least. For some, those least interested in the Epsein files (like me), it was a distraction from, well, everything else and it was hoped that the president would begin focusing on domestic issues, and it did seem that this was a pivot president Trump was attempting to make.

But almost nothing happens in Congress to begin with, and less during the late summer (they’re out the entire month of August) and leading into the holidays we can expect, unless it’s an election year, even less. No one was particularly disappointed. We hibernated most of the fall and winter. I can’t recall any news going on at that time (outside of Ukraine, and notice that they barely cover it even now), untol (drumroll please!) the 28th of February where the U.S. along with Israel, lunched a war against israels greatest enemy in the middle east: Iran. The news coverage was great, but I never saw anyoe questioning what precipitated this, well, what seemed to be unprovoked, attack. That was the straw for me.

Of course we don’t have troops on the ground (Yet. I’m waiting until after the mid-terms for that to happen. Mark my words.) but have still incurred casualties as Iran is not just going to sit back and take. beating. They’re going to fight back with everything they have. Wouldn’t anyone? And it goes on and on. No one, in our government, is even sure who’s actually in charge in Iran since the first thing we did, was decapitate their leadership. At least twice (I believe?).

And now, the ones thst encouraged this campaign, Israel, where are they? Why is it only the U.S.’s war now? Of course. Israel is busy confiscating another state (Lebanon). While the U.S. keeps Iran busy (and now the Yemeni Houthi’s) Israel can start allocating real estate in the ever expanding state of Israel.

I am still America First, like most, if not all of the other ones condeming the direction that this administration has taken the country and I believe (I only speak for myself) think the country would be better off if we let Israel deal with Israeli problems (in the middle east) and the U.S. can work on our own. I don’t think that disagreeing with the direction of this administration mskes anyone less patriotic. In fact, I believe this is exactly what the founding fathers thought sbpout when they were writing the Declaration and later, the Constitution.

We can all, as conservatives, work together if we stop disparaging one another based on particular policies. It’s interesting that some of those complaining about people like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and other popular social media podcast hosts just because they happen to disagree with some policy positions. That’s what makes us strong, not weak. We, conservatives, can at least discuss those differences without attempting to destroy
