How Does Criticism Equal Hate?

I really do not understand how criticizing a foreign government is analogus to hating that country yet this is what I witness daily on the X platform. There are s many self declared “Zionists” on the platform, at least in my timeline that it’s getting impossible to make a simple statement about how, for instance, the government of Israel has so much influence within our own government. I have yet to be accused of being antisemitic, but I think that’s an accusation that’s not far off because I am open about my criticizm of the Israeli government.

Some People Never Evolve Past Hate

I watched a YouTube video ealier, by someone from my early days perusing the net as an atheist(I wasn’t into the whole social media scene for a while), and someone, even though at the time he was so “famous” on the net, I just really didn’t care for because I could tell(or so I thought) he was disingenuous. Also, for all his smiling and his soft spoken way, he really was a hater in my opinion. He was one of those, you’re either with me or against me” types and, well, atheists are like a clowder of cats: impossible to herd even though 90% at the time were declared liberals. So, I’m thinking about a response to his YouTube video. Watch for yourself. What do you think of the situation he’s reporting?

You’re Doing it WRONG

I really haven’t addressed the Candice Owens story here and I’ve tried to stay away from it as much as I can, even though I find myself commenting on other’s really hateful posts on X. There has been some really nasty commentary about this young woman (well, compared to me, yes, she’s young) and although I’m not a regular viewer of her content, I’ve become more interested in it as the vitriol toward her has increased.

Get Out of Our Country, Atheists!

Atheists have always been concerned, to a degree, with how low we poll among the general population as to being trusted. We have polled lower than rapists and that should be disturbing to anyone, atheist or not. Why is it we’re so disliked (okay, I’ll say it – hated) by those that probably don’t personally know an atheist? Why is it that just not believing in god(s) somehow brings out a level of vitriol in some people that in any other circumstance, would be considered a threat? Think about it. Some of the things I’ve seen posted on social media by so-called believers are so over the top that it has me wondering about the mental health of the same.
