So Justin Trudeau is no longer Prime Minister of Canada. Effectively he is a dictator now because of his implementing the Emergencies Act in order to end the violent, racist, white supremacist, and terrorist occupation of the capitol, Ottawa, for the last two weeks. What do these terrorists demand of their government? The right to own their body and not be forced into a medical procedure or not be able to work. That’s how this started. The worst act of violence that these protestors have been accused of? Noise pollution. that’s right, honling their horns, disturbing the peaceful slumber of Ottawa. A judge ordered them to cease the noise and guess what? They did.
Here’s Wikipedia’s description of the Emergencies Act. Of course, like anything Wikipedia, I cannot vouch for it’s accuracy. But, does this seem to fit the current situation in Canada? I know that at least 90% of the media coverage, in the U.S. as well as Canada, has been negative towards the protestors, but embedded reporters in Ottawa don’t seem to find these people as being dispruptive or violent (npo rock throwing at police, Molotov cocktails, or looting of local businesses. A bit different from the ”mostly peaceful protests” that took place in the U.S. after the death of George Floyd (a multiple felon). It seems that the government in Canada is making this their pwn ”January 6” occasion where the worst thing that happened, other than the murder of a protestor by police, were people ”trespassing”. Many of those are in deep, dark, jail cells now and some have been sentenced to up to five years in prison. For trespassing.
It looks however, that the Canadian protestors are undaunted, at least for now. The threat of having their bank accounts seized, their truck insurance suspended, and yes, even jail, doesnt seem to do anything more than irritate them. The government called in trucks for towing these vehicles and some those drivers, it appears have refused to participate, Four provincial premiers have called the national governments invocation of the Emergencies Act hasty and unneeded. Other critics have said that nothing that has happened so far has risen to the level of needing to implemet the act as it was meant for serious, national security issues. This issue could be solved in thirty seconds by Trudeau declaring all mandates null and void. Petulant Trudeau, however keeps digging.
What’s next, police with batons beating unarmed protestors. That will look good on the evening news. How about calling out the army? I guess the government could call this an ”insurrection” but no one is armed. No one is attacking another person or group. All this has done is make the federal government look weak and thuggish. I’ve noticed that the Teamsters Union has come out against this protest as well. Their reason is that this is hurting workers. Wait. when the truckers strike because they want a better union contract, who does that hurt? Not the union. the only reason the Teamsters are against this is that it is not filling their coffers.
Keep your eyes on this and for us un the U.S., we need to be very aware of what is going on because the next place this may happen is here. Biden, does not give a damn about the Constitution, and has said as much in the last year.
