Every once in a while something new, to me at least, comes across the Internet I always know I need to share it whether everyone already knows this or not. We all know that the world is divided into generations (e.g. X, Millennial, Z) to be able to measure changes in people over time. The first number in this survey hat cathes the eye is that the number of people that identify as gay has risen to 5.6%. Of course none of these surveys actually tell us the why of anything, just crunch the numbers and report the same. then there’s the one that really jumps out and punches you in the nose: 15.9% of “Generation Z” (1997-2002) that identify as gay. That’s a lot isn’t it and a huge increase from Millennials (1981 – 2001) occurred as well, up to 9%. A key from the article: While scientists believe that the share of LGBT individuals has not actually changed over time, younger people in the U.S. are more likely to be openly gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual. So can we infer anything from this? Apparently not. Just something interesting to talk about around the water cooler.
