Committing Murder on Live T.V.

I’m against the death penalty. There I said it(again). It’s been years since I posted about this subject and I’m not going to write specifically about this barbaric practice here, but who is about to be executed. On live T.V. (maybe). Who am I referring to in this blog? Former Major(U.S. Army) Nidal Hasan, otherwise known as The Ft. Hood Shooter as he killed thirteen in November 2009.

Honestly, I had completely forgotten about him once he was formally convicted, as if there’d be any questions about his being convicted because they not only caught him with the smoking gun, there were plenty of living witnesses to his actions. So ow, the government has decided he’s going to be executed by firing squad and the Pentagon wants to livestream the execution to the world

I accidentally watched Fox News earlier where the host of a show called Primetime was not only hoping Fox would carry the event, but that it would occur during his show hour. Disgusting and well, in my opinion, juvenile. But what can you expect from someone that is serious about nothing in particular unless it can gain ratings? Well, that‘s all of them (on T.V.) isn’t it?

I am actually in favor of live streaming the execution (not that I’ll be watching) because maybe, just maybe, the world (and especially America) will see what a savage act it is for the government to murder someone. That’s right, the government will be committing a homicide. Yes, legally it is homicide although it falls under justifiable, as if a person killed a home invader, for instance. In this case though, it is years out of time and place to the point where many (like me) have completely forgotten about the person and the crime. As it should be that these people are shut away for their natural lives. Death, especially to a true believer as Hasan was supposed to be, means nothing(Bravado is temporary, until they stand you up in front oft of that wall).

I do expect that if this occurs as scheduled, that the audience will most likely be huge. That’s the really sad realization for me. People are going to be fascinated watching the death of another. Maybe we haven’t evolved as much as we think we have.
